Job Description
Demell Contracting specializes in custom framing, finishing and renovations in Renfrew County and the surrounding area. With an increase of work scheduled this year, we are looking for energetic individuals to join our company as Framer- Carpenter Assistants. These are full-time, seasonal positions.
Responsibilities of this position include:
– Construct, repair and install building frameworks for residential and commercial builds
– Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
– Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
– Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Qualifications:
– Previous experience in framing or carpentry
– Ability to read blueprints is an asset
– Must have own transportation
– Valid drivers license
– Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 50lb
– Excellent communication skills
– Own steel-toed boots
– A team player with strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic
– Working at Heights certification is an asset
