Accessible Learning Advisor

Accessible Learning Advisor Support

Our Accessible Learning Advisor is here to support your success. They work with students with disabilities at every stage of their college journey—from before you begin your program to graduation. Together, you’ll talk about your strengths, needs, and goals, and explore academic accommodations, supports, and campus resources. Whether you need help with learning strategies or support to remove barriers in your courses, the Advisor will work with you to create a plan that helps ensure equitable access to your education and your full participation in college life.

Any student registered with the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) or referred by our Student Success Specialist can access our learning strategies service through one-on-one sessions. Algonquin College offers this support service, which can help you become a more effective learner in the college environment. Taking into account your learning style, strengths, and specific learning challenges, a learning strategist helps you understand how you learn best and guides you in achieving your academic goals.
