Who better to tell you about the Action Sports Park Development program at the Pembroke Waterfront Campus than our grads!

Action Sports Park Development, Algonquin College, Pembroke Campus“8 months ago I moved to the City of Pembroke to study Action Sports Park Development to further my knowledge In the skatepark industry. I didn’t realize I would’ve met some of the greatest people in my life. I cannot get it through my head that this year has come to a successful end! I don’t know what I would’ve done without any of these people this year. They helped me get everywhere before and after my knee surgery. Couldn’t have asked to have this year another way. Glad I have successfully finished Action Sports Park Development program at Algonquin College. Glad to see what the future entails for me. I am proud to announce that I have been given the opportunity to run my own scooter shop. I am now running Cosmic Pro Scooters, Toronto’s newest street oriented scooter shop for technical and street based riders.”

Stirling Iredale

“My program gave me all the knowledge that I am using everyday at work. First through the Brose farm learning to shape dirt to make rollers and jumps and then later with BORCA building single track for mountain bikes. The top three program-related experiences that benefited me most during my studies was dirt sculpting at the Brose Farm, single track building with BORCA and chainsaw operations with Algonquin College. My next plan is to remain in Alberta and build bike parks for Jay Hoots, Hoots Inc. I definitely would recommend this program to anyone interested in taking it.”

Employers think our grads are pretty amazing too!

Steve Hare, Owner/Operator, ProPour Concrete Inc. “Riley Wilkins, 2018 Action Sports Park Development grad, has a real passion for skateboarding. His love for skating, the culture and quest for more and better skateboard parks led him to pursue a career in the skatepark construction industry. Riley’s keen sense of the terrain and basic understanding of how a skatepark works was extremely beneficial when he began working with Propour Concrete Services Inc in the summer of 2018. Armed with a wide range of newly acquired skills and knowledge from the Action Sports Park Development program, it has been a unique and fulfilling opportunity to be able to continue to teach and work with Riley.”

“Riley showed us hard work, commitment and passion during the program which allowed him to stand out. Now I’m proud to say he’s already working with crews that are building the future of action sports. He has been a great addition to the build team for The Yard and would be added to projects in the future!”
