What is Student Self-Enrolment? Watch the August 2026 R3 Showcase event!

The August 2026 R3 Project Showcase event was hosted by Krista Pearson, Vice President of Student Services and R3 Project’s Executive Sponsor, who welcomed more than 300 participants.

This event focused on Student Self-Enrolment, a big and important change coming with the new Student Information System (SIS), Thesis SM, and the accompanying Thesis Student Portal. This topic has also been covered several times at past Showcase events.

Claude Brulé, President and CEO of Algonquin College, started the event by highlighting the launch of Thesis SM training and provided a preview of what employees can expect in the upcoming Fall term.

Julie Beauchamp, Senior Vice President, Academic, explained how Student Self-Enrolment supports Algonquin College’s academic priorities by enhancing the learner experience.

Will Fitzmaurice, Associate Registrar and Enrolment Management Services, provided an overview of Student Self-Enrolment, including the Pre-enrolment and Re-enrolment processes learners will use to reserve and register for courses, as well as how employees can support learners throughout the process.

Kizzy Holmes, Principal Implementation Consultant with Thesis, delivered a live demonstration of the Student Self-Enrolment experience from the learner perspective in the Thesis Student Portal.

Following the demo, the event ended with a Q&A session, where attendees were invited to ask questions surrounding Student Self-Enrolment.
