When it comes to increasing employee satisfaction and productivity, we’re going to turn our attention to a feature offered on our new Student Information System (SIS), Thesis Student Management (Thesis SM), that will absolutely bring that R3 Project objective to life.
The July 19 R3 Showcase welcomed more than 150 participants to its virtual gathering where participants were provided with a general overview of the R3 Project scope. Participants also saw a demo of the new Student Information System, Thesis SM, and had the opportunity to asks questions at the end.
If there’s one thing that we can say about the R3 Project, it’s that it will bring a lot of exciting changes to the Algonquin College Community.
But, with change comes… well, change.
As an Algonquin College employee, you’ll be gradually transitioning to the new Student Information System (SIS), Thesis Student Management (Thesis SM). Once you start to learn about the new SIS, you might ask yourself: What parts of the new SIS are relevant to me? How will I be trained? When do I get access?
Our current Student Information System, GeneSIS, has served Algonquin College well for many decades. However, since GeneSIS was developed using a programming language that was common during the 1970s all the way through to the 1990s, we now need to introduce a new Student Information System (SIS) that is more technologically advanced and that can do even more for the College. This is where Thesis Student Management (or Thesis SM) comes in!
With the implementation of a new Student Information System (SIS) comes a lot of questions, and—we get it—there’s a lot of information to digest.
The R3 Project includes multiple phases, and you might be interested in finding out what each one does and how they will affect the AC Community. These phases allow Algonquin College’s R3 Project team and Thesis—the vendor providing the new Student Information System (SIS), Thesis Student Management (Thesis SM)—to plan and coordinate project milestones within targeted end dates.

As a key focus of the R3 Project, we’re reviewing and redesigning our Business Processes in order to find ways to increase student success and satisfaction, improve employee satisfaction and productivity, and more.
Whenever someone brings up the R3 Project, you’ve probably heard the term, Business Process, mentioned many times. But what is a Business Process, exactly? How does it work? How does it play a role in the R3 Project? And… what does it mean for you, personally?
