The Wireless/Mobility Telecommunication Engineering Technician program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada is built upon generic communications and electronics principles that have driven a number of industries, from the wired and wireless telephone and broadcast industries, to emergency, satellite and military communications industries. The wireless body of knowledge is unique in that it encompasses radio engineering, wireless link design, wireless infrastructure, spectrum and frequency allocations, network and mobility management, wireless services, user devices and interfaces, and regulatory and compatibility requirements. The wireless industry depends on a large fundamental knowledge base, infrastructure and safety considerations.

Gain practical skills and experience

Students in this program gain hands-on skills and experience working in our wireless and Data Com/Telecom Labs, and through two 600-hour co-op placements with local employers during the summer months.
