Coat of Arms

Algonquin College created a Coat of Arms that symbolizes we are an educational institution with a 50-year history, distinguishing us from the many private business colleges that come and go. Formed in 1967, Algonquin College is the largest college in Eastern Ontario with three campuses—Ottawa, Pembroke and Perth. The Ottawa campus, located in Canada’s Capital, is connected to the Ottawa Valley campuses by the Ottawa, Rideau and Tay rivers.

Indigenous Roots

Algonquin College is named after the First Nations Peoples who first inhabited the Ottawa Valley.
