VRTUCAR Eco Campus Commuter
Every college and university has a mandate to reduce private cars on campus and encourage the use of sustainable transportation. VRTUCAR has placed shared cars on Ottawa campuses for many years. Now, VRTUCAR has launched an “Eco Campus Commuter” agreement with Algonquin College, Carleton University, Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa.
VRTUCAR members who use campus VRTUCARs, or attend classes, teach or work on campus, now have free parking on each of the other campuses. For example, if you go from one campus to another to use the recreation facilities, and you drive there using a campus VRTUCAR, you won’t have to pay for parking!
Visitors from Rural Campuses
When visiting the Woodroffe campus from rural campuses, a permit holder may park in Lot 12 with their permit. Staff from rural campuses may get a daily pass from the Parking Office at C044A to ensure they have a parking space reasonably close to a centrally located building when travelling to Woodroffe campus on College business.
Text to Pay
Recently, we began a pilot project to offer a text to pay service (Click here to find our more) in Lot 12. We are the first College in Ontario (and possibly Canada) to provide this option. We are always looking to bring convenience and opportunity to our customers.
Vrtucar is now at Algonquin's Woodroffe campus!
Why own a car if you don't have to? Use vrtucar and try car sharing instead. It's simple. Reserve the car online. Pay by the hour + kilometer. Hourly rates start at less than the cost of a round trip bus fare. You'll save time and money! Gas and insurance is included. You need a Class G Ontario license and a good driving record for the past 3-5 years. Must be over the age of 23. There is one car located in the first row in front of C Building.
