2014 Algonquin College Entrepreneurship Week

Students, faculty, community partners and the general public are invited to experience TRACTION, an entrepreneurship simulation game recently featured in Forbes magazine. The game, developed at and through a collaboration with Algonquin College Applied Research & Innovation, enables participants to develop their entrepreneurial skills in creating a start up company through two phases of pre and post revenue. The simulation includes both academic content and practical experience in which teams of 2-3 participants will learn and experience team collaboration, funding, product development, and business modeling while competing against other teams to envision and bring a start-up to market.
Prizes and Networking
Students will have the opportunity to compete with and against successful real world serial entrepreneurs. Participants will have a chance to win great prizes, including a dinner and consultation with leading serial entrepreneurs, Starbucks gift cards and more!
Have questions about becoming an entrepreneur, whether in creating social or environmental change or starting up your own business? The tournament will also have a short break where students can network and connect with participating serial entrepreneurs and Algonquin’s own Executive-in-Residence!
Teams
Students can create their own teams ahead of time or just show up and be set up with a team. Student teams should ensure they have ONE laptop per team pre-loaded with the most current version of Google Chrome.

Registration opens Friday, October 31st; each participant must register online at Eventbrite. Registration closes Tuesday, November 18th at 5pm. So don’t miss out! Register today!
