Police Foundations students volunteer at St. Patrick’s Day parade

On Saturday, March 7, 2026 19 Police Foundations students gave their time to participate in the Ottawa St. Patrick’s Day parade.Students Brandon Ross and Nolan Tarantino walking in the parade. (Note- City of Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe walking directly behind them.)

After a six-year hiatus, the parade was able to return, in part due to the many student volunteers.

Learners filled a variety of roles including barricade assembly and positioning, as well as pedestrian and traffic control before, during and after the parade. They worked in conjunction with the City of Ottawa, Ottawa Police, and the Irish Society of the National Capital Region to help ensure the safe return of the parade to the City of Ottawa.
