The energy was abuzz at the Algonquin College Diwali Celebration on Oct. 20. Hosted by the Algonquin Students’ Association (SA), the event featured classic Bollywood tunes, delicious eats and henna tattooing courtesy of Henna by Shanna.

After many long years apart, students were welcomed together again for a fun-filled afternoon of dancing and singing to celebrate the special occasion.

The College’s championship winning Cricket Club was also in attendance, with Christine Peachey from the AC International Education Centre sharing her congratulations and praise for the team’s recent success at the National College Cricket Championship.

The team took home gold at September’s Championship, capping off another successful season for a team who already has three consecutive provincial wins under their belts.

And of course, not afraid of some fun, the team was quick to jump in and show off their dance moves as well.
