The Canadian Culinary Championship (CCC) is an annual national event that took place from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 at the Rogers Centre in Ottawa. The winning chefs from 10 different regional qualifiers are gathered to compete in three challenging and entertaining competitions: Mystery Wine, Black Box and the Grand Finale. To be crowned the top chef in Canada at the CCC is a career changer. The competition has yielded three previous winners from Ottawa.

At the Applied Research Student Project Showcase on Dec. 3, learners across the college presented over 88 applied research projects in areas such as computer science, engineering, media, hospitality, and healthcare, with 35 projects focused on community health in nursing.

In honour of National Addictions Awareness Week Nov. 25-29, the Jordan Leigh Foundation joined learners and employees in the AC Hub, presented by the Umbrella Project at Algonquin College. The foundation’s mission is to break the stigmas surrounding mental health and addiction, fostering a world where compassion, understanding and support are paramount.
