Students Partner with The Ottawa Police Service to Take Down Violence Against Women

For the fifth year, Algonquin public relations and video production students have dedicated the beginning of March to helping the Ottawa Police Service raise awareness about violence against women. “This is a broad social issue that remains an epidemic,” said Stephen Heckbert, Coordinator of the public relations program. “This partnership with the Ottawa Police Service represents an excellent opportunity for students at the College to help make a difference in our community.” Continue reading

Brit O’Neill Turns in One Brush for Another

For Dental Hygiene student Britt O’Neill from Ancaster, Ontario, the opportunity of a lifetime awaits in Grand Prairie, Alberta.

Britt, a member of Team Ontario, is currently competing alongside Karen Sagle, an alumna of the College’s Event Management program, and Jenn and Stephanie Hanna in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. And you can cheer Team Hanna on in the Marketplace Food Court this week! Food Services will be broadcasting Team Ontario’s games on Wednesday February 24 at 3:30 and 8:30 pm Eastern time, and Friday February 26 at 8:30 pm Eastern. Continue reading
