2021 has been an incredibly busy and challenging year that also allowed the College community to showcase its creativity, new processes, generosity and innovation.

As we look back, we invite you to check out some of these stories involving the Algonquin College community. Today we look at stories that were featured on local TV news.

November 8, 2021, CTV News Ottawa – Health-care Hat Trick: Mom and two daughters nursing together at Ottawa’s Queensway Carleton Hospital. The three women all graduated from the nursing program at Algonquin College. In fact, they were in different years of the program at the same time, studying together and encouraging each other, never imagining they would one day work at the same hospital. The Ishkodewan courtyard looks more magical these days, thanks to the generosity of DARE6 partner PCL Constructors.

Campus elves were spotted this week adding holiday touches around the structure near the fire vessel.

Led by Jeff Turner and assisted by Shaun Barr, these festive fellows were joined by part-time technician Talitha, from shipping and receiving, and Victoria, from electrical, to deck the halls in a spectacular way.

Four Fraser fir trees were purchased from the Optimist Club in Arnprior and were decorated with lights matching the colours in the traditional medicine wheel. Shaun created sturdy outdoor tree stands and the already magnificent space now glows with the colourful trees.

This over $1,000 gift of holiday spirit comes from our friend and partner PCL. If you are on-campus at dusk or in the evening, stop by, snap a selfie and enjoy the holiday spot. Special thanks to PCL for making our holidays a little bit brighter.

Food Services
The Marketplace Food Court, 35th Street Market Café and The Fix Eatery will be open at the Ottawa Campus for the Winter 2022 Term. Hours of operation are available on the Food Services website.

The Campus Store/Course Materials
Winter Term Booklists for registered students at the Ottawa, Perth and Pembroke campuses are now available online. AC Network credentials are required to access Booklists. AC Online students can find their textbooks by using the Textbook Search by Course.
