Connor Gunn wins silver in Automotive Service at Vancouver’s Skills Canada National Competition.

Skills Competences Canada (SCC) has been hosting the National Competition (SCNC) since 1994. Since then, it has grown into one of the world’s largest technical skills testing competitions, encompassing over 75 disciplines from Masonry to Cloud computing.

All 13 provinces and territories are represented by their own provincial branch of Skills Canada and hold their provincial competitions to qualify their competitors for the National level. There are both Secondary school and post-secondary categories in most competition areas.

May 18 is Museum Day

“Each year since 1977, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has organized International Museum Day, which represents a unique moment for the international museum community.

The objective of International Museum Day (IMD) is to raise awareness about the fact that, “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.” Last year, more than 37,000 museums participated in the event in about 158 countries and territories.” – International Council of Museums
