The Canadian Culinary Championship (CCC) is an annual national event that took place from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 at the Rogers Centre in Ottawa. The winning chefs from 10 different regional qualifiers are gathered to compete in three challenging and entertaining competitions: Mystery Wine, Black Box and the Grand Finale. To be crowned the top chef in Canada at the CCC is a career changer. The competition has yielded three previous winners from Ottawa.

Algonquin College hosts Ottawa Indigenous Student Career Fair 

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, over 40 employers from across the National Capital Region met with hundreds of students as Algonquin CollegeStudents chatting with potential employers at tables inside Nawapon hosted Indigenous students from Carleton University, Collège La Cité and the University of Ottawa at the Ottawa Indigenous Student Career Fair in Nawapon. Behind the scaffold: a peek into the Centre Block restoration on Parliament Hill

On Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, Algonquin College President and CEO Claude Brulé and Director of Indigenous Initiatives Anita Tenasco enjoyed aClaude Brule and Anita Tenasco posed with two AC alumni students inside the under renovation Centre Block on Parliament Hill behind-the-scenes tour of Centre Block on Parliament Hill, which is currently closed and under renovation.

Leading the tour was John-Philippe Smith, one of Algonquin College’s recent Alumni of Distinction Awards recipients, who serves as the Government of Canada’s dominion sculptor. Read more >
