1611X Victimology Eligibility Package

Thank you for your application to the Victimology Graduate Certificate program. You are receiving this Eligibility Package because you have applied for entry into the Victimology Program and you do not have a related diploma or degree that meets the eligibility requirements. Please follow the directions below to submit your eligibility package. We look forward to receiving your completed package soon. Please submit a Letter of Intent only if you have been instructed to by the Registrar’s Office via email.

Eligibility and selection process:

Part I
Meet admission requirements of a college diploma or university degree in an unrelated field.

Part II
Complete the Letter of Intent (see below for guidelines).

Eligibility Guidelines for the Letter of Intent
As per Part II of Eligibility and Selection, your Letter of Intent is a key element of your application. Submit your Letter of Intent to the Program Coordinator as soon as possible upon receipt of this package. If you have not already done so, please send your transcripts to the Registrar’s Office as soon as possible upon receipt of this package.

Letter of Intent Requirements

To ensure the highest quality learning experience, only a limited number of seats are available in the program. We want to make certain that all eligible applicants have an opportunity to demonstrate why they should be considered for our program.

Specifically, we want to know more about you and why you want to take Algonquin College’s Victimology Graduate Certificate program. We would like you to write us a letter explaining, as fully as possible, why you would be a good candidate. This letter is to be two pages in length, typed, and double-spaced. Please respond to each of the points below and include specific details and examples.

  • Qualifications: Details of your relevant experiences; specific skills, qualifications, and knowledge of the field.
  • Contribution: A statement outlining your interest in the program and how you think you can contribute to it.
  • Career Goals: Your expectations of how the Victimology Graduate Certificate program will further your career goals.
  • Additional Skills: Any additional special skills or knowledge unrelated to Victimology, which you think might be useful or beneficial to the program or to a future employer.
  • Documentation: Include additional documentation that validates your qualifications, such as transcripts from industry related courses or letters of recommendation from employers.

Your Letter of Intent is due as soon as possible upon receipt of this requirement.
