The AC team has been working hard to improve our maps, starting with our Ottawa campus; you should check it out. This improved map will help you locate your classroom.

Program Delivery and Course Delivery

Program Delivery

A Program is a group of courses, organized into program levels (also referred to as a Program of Study) leading to various credentials. Completion of required courses entitles students to the credential defined by the program.

Types of programs are:

  • On Campus: All courses are regularly scheduled and delivered on campus.
  • Virtual: Regularly scheduled classes delivered online via web conferencing.
  • Blended: Most courses are regularly scheduled and delivered on-campus; others are hybrid, online, virtual, and/or flexible.
  • AC Online: Courses are delivered asynchronously online, meaning there are no scheduled class times.
  • Flexible – Synchronous*: All courses are regularly scheduled. Students choose to attend either 1) on-campus or 2) online (web conferencing).
  • Flexible – Synchronous* & Asynchronous**: All courses are regularly scheduled. Students choose to attend 1) on-campus or 2) online (web conferencing) OR 3) participate only asynchronously.

*synchronous means participation at the scheduled time
**asynchronous means participation is not required at a scheduled time

Course Delivery

In Person – All classes delivered on campus, on fixed days and times, during the week. Instructors and students interact face-to-face, allowing for immediate feedback, collaboration, and active learning experiences.

In Person Hybrid – A portion of the course will take place on-campus, in person, on fixed days and times during the week; with an additional portion delivered asynchronously online.

Synchronous Online – An online synchronous course that is conducted fully online and follows a fixed schedule. Both instructors and students participate during real- time scheduled classes through virtual platforms, allowing for interactive discussions, lectures, and collaborative activities.

Synchronous Online Hybrid – A portion of the course is conducted online and follows a fixed schedule, through virtual platforms. In addition, a portion of the course will be delivered asynchronously online.

Asynchronous Online – An online asynchronous course has no fixed class schedule. Students engage with course content and interact with their peers and instructors at their own pace and time within the semester or term of delivery. This format provides flexibility for students to manage their learning independently.

Flex – The course is scheduled to take place on a fixed day and time on campus, where the student may choose to attend either in person or through virtual platforms.

Flex Hybrid – The course is scheduled to take place on a fixed day and time on campus, where the student may choose to attend either in person or through virtual platforms, AND a portion of the course is delivered asynchronously online.
