Co-op Programs – Information for Applicants

Cooperative Education is an important component in many programs at Algonquin College. The co-op experience provides students with the opportunity to learn through paid work experience and acquire additional knowledge and skills related to their career goals and objectives. At Algonquin College, programs have an optional or mandatory co-op component. Please visit Co-op Programs for further details on co-op requirements by program.

  • Apply for Co-op on ontariocolleges.ca. Most co-op programs are available for application on OCAS. You must choose the co-op version at the time of your application to the College. Space is limited so apply early and ensure you select the co-op version.
  • Apply for Co-op after Admissions. Select programs are available for application through an online application process with the Co-op Department once you have started your program. You will be notified by email when the application is open and be provided with instructions and deadlines to apply.

Being accepted into a program with co-op is not a guarantee that you will participate in co-op. You must complete all the preparation work and actively participate in a job search. You must also meet your program’s progression and eligibility requirements and be in good financial and academic standing with the College.

Find out how to apply and review the coop application information here. Be sure to visit the Co-op Education Department website for answers to all your questions, including co-op fees and co-op FAQs.
