College President Robert Gillett and Students’ Association President Michael Barrett will be serving coffee, juice and donuts on Monday, August 29, at Algonquin College’s Woodroffe Campus to welcome students to the first day of classes for the 2005-2006 academic year. |
Algonquin College to Train Nigerian University Graduates in Network Technology

Algonquin College will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the government of Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, to train 70 Nigerian university graduates in different programs related to network technologies. This $2.5 million contract will be delivered over two years with the students training at Algonquin’s Woodroffe Campus and living in the College’s residence.

Girls from the Women in Media Foundation’s (WIMF) Girls’ Television and New Media Camp will unveil three films that they have created at a gala screening event taking place at the National Archives in Ottawa. For two weeks the girls have been working on their films at Algonquin College, utilizing their state-of-the-art media facilities. |

Algonquin College will host an Open House for its Florist and Horticulture programs on Saturday, June 25, at 11:00 a.m. in the M Building on the Woodroffe Campus. Program-specific presentations will be given and those in attendance will have the opportunity to tour the facilities and gardens.

Rise and Shine, it’s Bloomin’ Time: Algonquin College Annual Spring Garden Show

Algonquin College invites the media as well as the general public to its 27th annual spring garden display showcasing the amazing talents of its second-year horticulture students. With more than 30 species of plants and more than 5,000 bulbs in bloom, the greenhouses are an excellent location to conduct interviews, televise the weather, or capture screenshots. This year’s theme for the display: “Rise and shine, it’s bloomin’ time.” |
