Parking - Violations and Enforcement
Parking Violations
Algonquin College property is Private Property and the College reserves the right to exclude any person or motor vehicle from its property.

All Parking Control Staff are sworn in by the City of Ottawa to issue municipal tickets. All violations to the College parking rules and regulations are automatically treated as Unauthorized Parking - Private Property and the vehicle in question is issued a City of Ottawa Infraction. Algonquin College reserves the right to issue its own internal infractions to violators of a valid parking arrangement with the College.

Violation notices are issued for a range of parking offences that violate the College's parking rules and regulations including but not limited to:

  • parking on College property without a valid permit;
  • parking in areas that are not assigned to that colour of permit.

Fines under the City of Ottawa
Infraction notices include but are not limited to:

Code 1

Unauthorized Parking - Private Property

$ 50.00

Code 2

No Parking Zone

$ 50.00

Code HP

Handicap Parking No Permit

$ 300.00

All City of Ottawa tickets must be paid at the City offices or at one of their authorized locations (see back of ticket).

NOTE:
The purchase of a Parking Permit does not guarantee a space is available in your designated area. A higher priced permit can always be used to occupy a lower priced lot space should space in your designated lot not be available.

APPEALS
You must appeal an infraction in writing within 5 days of the violation. Appeal forms can be picked up, at the Parking Office in Room C044, or you may file an appeal online. If the College upholds your infraction you may still appeal the ticket by following the directions listed on the back of the Parking Infraction Notice.

The Parking Office is located in Room C-044 at Woodroffe Campus
