Top 25 Employers in the National Capital Region

On February 5th, Algonquin College was proud to be named one of the National Capital Region’s Top 25 Employers for 2014. This great achievement would not have been possible without the collective contribution of all our amazing employees; it is a demonstration of the progress we have made as an institution to empower our entire College community to succeed.
Some of the reasons that Algonquin College was selected a Top Employer in Ottawa include:
- Encouraging employees to continue their education with with tuition subsidies as well as subsidies for professional accreditation, as well as providing access to many other professional development opportunities
- Providing access to President and executives via Town Halls, President’s website and Twitter account, New Employee Breakfast, annual Breakfast and BBQ Meetings, monthly Coffee Break gatherings
- Supporting new mothers and fathers, including adoptive parents, with generous maternity and parental leave top-up payments
- Helping employees plan for the future with contributions to a defined benefit pension plan
- Starting new employees with generous vacation packages
