Network Connectivity

This service provides networking connectivity and related network operating system functions to support access to College technical resources as well as access to other connected networks. This network forms the digital foundation for all other services provided to the College.
Network connectivity services and connections (including moves, adds and changes) are provided through the College’s structured cabling network. Typical connection rates are at 1 Gb/s via Ethernet. Specific requirements for different client needs can be negotiated for other speeds or connection methods. Technical security is provided through network and firewall policies that isolate College network segments and ensure only the appropriate traffic flows and access is allowed.
The College only supports private IP addresses and IP version 4 networking at this point. Networking operating services such as network address management, network name services are also provided as part of this service.
