Algonquin Teaching with Technology Workshops
Teaching with Technology Workshops are a series of workshops designed to support faculty with different technologies that can be used in the development of course materials to engage and provide resources to students or for personal learning.
These workshops can be offered by request during the week (day and evenings) and on Saturdays.
Algonquin Academic YouTube Channel
You can upload your videos and/or Camtasia Relay presentations to YouTube and then send a link to your students through Blackboard or email.
You can list your videos as Public, Unlisted or Private. This is a collaborative area with one login. If you wish to showcase another professor's video, please contact them directly to obtain information and permission.

ACSIS
Algonquin College Student Information System (ACSIS) is a website where you can:
- Find your Algonquin network username and password
- View and print your timetable
- View your grades and GPA
- Drop Courses
- Transfer to a different section, etc.
Blackboard
Blackboard is the College’s main Learning Management System (LMS). Blackboard contains information about your courses, including:

TurnItIn is a tool that supports plagiarism prevention and academic integrity. It also provides tools for grading and providing feedback on submitted online assignments.It is accessible from within your Blackboard course.

Course Development
The Curriculum Implementation Services (CIS) supports programs with course development, online and hybrid courses in particular.
Every school at the College has a representative who can help guide faculty through the course development process and connect them to appropriate resources.
Digital Activities
Digital activities (formerly called Learning objects) are interactive activities that use creative techniques to simulate scenarios and teach skills.Digital Activities reinforce the learning outcome(s) of one specific topic displayed in one or two interactive activities. They are self contained activities that can generally be completed in 2 to 15 minutes.

Innovation Centre
The Innovation Centre, C043, is a classroom sized collaborative space available for ALL staff and faculty to explore and learn. This is our place to experiment with new technologies and thinking, learn from other's experiences and explore in our own ways.
The Innovation Centre website showcases and encourages Innovation at Algonquin College by: sharing Case Studies of innovative faculty and staff, indexing various free online tools with potential in higher education, and sharing and promoting various college events and projects.

Mobile Learning
Students in Mobile Learning Programs are required to purchase a computing device to enhance the learning experience, obtain and work with course related material, participate in collaborative and mlearning environments, and become skilled, confident users of technology within the educational environment and the workplace.
Students in Mobile Learning Programs are entitled to Microsoft Office and Adobe Master Collection software free of charge.

The Centre for Organizational Learning (COL) offers a variety of Professional Development programs. PD programs offered through the COL include:

(OERs)
Algonquin’s OER website showcases a number of high-quality repositories of media-rich resources and e-textbooks that can be used to supplement learning materials. It also contains information related to copyright and attribution.

Camtasia Relay is a desktop capture program that enables you to record presentations or demonstrations on a computer screen, along with narration. Note: Camtasia Relay has just been updated to version 4! New features include web cam capabilities, Fuse for portable devices and closed captioning options! If you have an old version of Relay, download the newest version today!

ADOBE
Algonquin has an Institutional Licence for Adobe Master Collection CS6.0, and Adobe Captivate.
Algonquin has extended the contract with Adobe to include a Work-at-Home agreement. All full and part-time faculty and staff can install the Adobe Master Collection on 2 personal computers.
Antivirus
The College's anti-virus software is ESET NOD32. Licenses are available for all college-owned computers and are generally installed automatically when computers are setup by ITS staff.

This new tool allows you to create tests and pools from numbered and formatted text similar to what you may receive from book publishers. It works with Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers, True or False, Essay and Fill in the Blank type of questions.

Join.me
Join.me is an easy to use, online screen sharing tool that will allow you students to view your screen by typing in a URL.

Virtual Desktop Initiative (VDI)
is a virtual desktop where the windows desktop and programs you see are run remotely on a server, but appear as though running on your machine. This is an easy way to access costly software.
Microsoft Windows 7
MS Windows 7 is an operating system that you need to install on your computer in order to run the software.

During Guided Innovation time slots, a member of the Innovation & Special Projects team will be available to provide guidance on tools and technologies, brainstorm new techniques and practices and learn with you. Laptops, tablets, video cameras, and other tools and technologies are available for experimentation during Guided Innovation hours.
