Algonquin Teaching with Technology Workshops

Teaching with Technology Workshops are a series of workshops designed to support faculty with different technologies that can be used in the development of course materials to engage and provide resources to students or for personal learning.

These workshops can be offered by request during the week (day and evenings) and on Saturdays.

Algonquin Academic YouTube Channel

You can upload your videos and/or Camtasia Relay presentations to YouTube and then send a link to your students through Blackboard or email.
You can list your videos as Public, Unlisted or Private. This is a collaborative area with one login. If you wish to showcase another professor's video, please contact them directly to obtain information and permission.

ACSIS

Algonquin College Student Information System (ACSIS) is a website where you can:

Digital activities (formerly called Learning objects) are interactive activities that use creative techniques to simulate scenarios and teach skills.Digital Activities reinforce the learning outcome(s) of one specific topic displayed in one or two interactive activities. They are self contained activities that can generally be completed in 2 to 15 minutes.

Innovation Centre

The Innovation Centre, C043, is a classroom sized collaborative space available for ALL staff and faculty to explore and learn. This is our place to experiment with new technologies and thinking, learn from other's experiences and explore in our own ways.

Students in Mobile Learning Programs are required to purchase a computing device to enhance the learning experience, obtain and work with course related material, participate in collaborative and mlearning environments, and become skilled, confident users of technology within the educational environment and the workplace.

AdobeAlgonquin has an Institutional Licence for Adobe Master Collection CS6.0, and Adobe Captivate.
Algonquin has extended the contract with Adobe to include a Work-at-Home agreement. All full and part-time faculty and staff can install the Adobe Master Collection on 2 personal computers.

During Guided Innovation time slots, a member of the Innovation & Special Projects team will be available to provide guidance on tools and technologies, brainstorm new techniques and practices and learn with you. Laptops, tablets, video cameras, and other tools and technologies are available for experimentation during Guided Innovation hours.
