Dr. Mostefa graduated with an M.Phil. in Thin Film Devices from Lancaster University, UK. He joined Glasgow University in Scotland where he graduated with a PhD in Physics of Semiconductors. He stayed for one year as postdoctoral research position. Dr. Mostefa spent 6 years in Saudi Arabia teaching Physics and radio physics to medical students at the college and University levels. Dr. Mostefa Joined Algonquin College in 1999 to teach in the Electro-Mechanical department, in a series of courses in the Electronic Engineering Program. When the Photonics Engineering area at Algonquin College was launched, Dr. Mostefa played a major role in the curriculum development and has been teaching a number of courses in the program.

Dr. Mostefa is a Member of the institute of Physics, IEEE and a member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE).

Dr. Mostefa is very interested in public speaking, fundraising, culture sensitivity and community outreach.
