Broadcasting – Television and Streaming Video professor Matthew McCooeye is an example to learners that you can make your dreams a reality. McCooeye was asked to join the CBC team to produce Olympic curling events for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Games. He previously worked on the rowing and canoe sprint events in Paris 2024 and men’s and women’s Olympic hockey in Sochi 2014, PyeongChang in 2018, and Beijing in 2022.

Canadian sports broadcasting plays an important role in the media to share event highlights and athletes’ stories with the public.

Diane McCutcheon, Vice President, Human Resources, celebrates retirement after 34 years of service

With rousing tributes, including a musical sendoff from her team, Diane McCutcheon celebrated her retirement after serving as the Vice President, Human Resources at Algonquin College for the past five and a half years – and an AC career spanning 34 years.

Well wishers, including many returning AC retirees, gathered in Nawapon to toast Diane, who was joined by her husband and children for the celebration. Over her multi-decade career at the College, she has provided leadership and strategic direction in the development of the organization’s human resources strategy for nearly six years. She led, coached and mentored a group of human resources professionals who add value and deliver a high standard of services that align to Algonquin College’s Strategic Business Plan. Diane served as a strategic advisor to the president and Board of Governors on human resources matters. Continue reading

AC Professors serve up Flavours of Bharat at the Indian Culinary Festival

Harsh Singh, Baking & Pastry Arts professor and program coordinator, as well as baking instructors Sarika Bagali and Bhakti Sheth, were invited as guest chefs for Flavours of Bharat: Indian Culinary Festival. The event took place on Wednesday, May 8, at the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park, was organized by Coconut Lagoon and hosted by the High Commission of India, Ottawa.
