Algonquin College welcomes Indigenous youth for career initiative event July 08, 2025

Algonquin College hosted a group of 14 Indigenous youth aged 15-17 from July 7–11, who participated in an Emergency Management
Indigenous Youth Career Initiative sponsored by the Indigenous Police Chiefs of Ontario (IPCO).
Youth traveled from as far away as the James Bay region to participate. Attendees stayed in the College’s Residence, toured the campus and heard presentations from faculty and students representing the Police Foundations, Pre-Service Firefighter and Paramedic programs. They also visited the Mamidosewin Centre and learned about the services offered to incoming students. Read more >
