Menstrual Products

Algonquin College believes that access to menstrual hygiene products is vital for successful education, public health and socioeconomic equity and the empowerment of our learners. No one should worry about missing out on activities or classes due to a period or have to sacrifice something else within their budget to afford menstrual products. According to statistics referenced by both the Government of Canada and Province of Ontario, 63 per cent of those surveyed had concerns about not being able to access either menstrual products or proper sanitation facilities, and 34% had faced budget/affordability issues.

The Facilities Management team has placed free menstrual products – pads and tampons – in 43 washrooms across the Ottawa campus.

Looking for products? You can find a machine in the washrooms listed below. We have a limited supply and will do our best to keep them fully stocked. Please only take what you need, when you need it.
