Policy Foundations of Inclusion and Diversity

Algonquin College’s policies have been developed to ensure the health, safety and security of all students, faculty and staff, and the proper and fair operation of the College as an academic institution and employer. Our policies define the College’s expectations in regards to student and employee behaviour and responsibilities, academic affairs and governance, and procedures and sanctions for resolving complaints and dealing with offences.

The manager, HR Programs has responsibility for policy HR24: Equity Diversity and Inclusion. The purpose of this policy is to express Algonquin College’s beliefs, values and commitment regarding inclusion and diversity in the workplace. It aims to ensure that the College’s voice on the subject of inclusion, diversity and equity is consistent and commitments to living our values related to equity, inclusion and diversity are clear.

Beyond this, respect and diversity are key elements of many of our policies. We have identified below some policies that are directly connected to creating a foundation for inclusive workplaces.
