Copy

Copying is easy – be sure to have your student card (AC Card), otherwise you will have to manually enter your network username and password at the printer.

Copying Instructions

  • Locate a multi-function printer
  • Tap your AC Card (student ID card)
  • Select the Copy icon
  • Place the document that you would like copied face up on the tray located on the top of the printer or on the scanner glass.
  • At this time, you can also change the default settings if needed, for one-sided/two-sided, desired resolution, colour versus black and white, file types and scan size.
  • After you have made your selections, hit Start
  • If you have other files to copy, you can do so one by one. Otherwise, please be sure to Log Out before leaving the printer and don’t forget to get your copied documents!

How to use the Duplex (two sided) function

To change duplex settings for copying, click on the Duplex icon found on the “Ready to Copy” Page.

Once the Duplex icon is selected, the screen will appear like this. Users are now given the option to Print 1 sided – 1 sided, 1 sided – 2 sided, 2 sided – 2 sided or 2 sided – 1 sided. For more options, users can select “More”.

How to use the Paper Selection function

To indicate a specific size of paper that the original document is to be copied on, users must select the Paper Selection icon found on the “Ready to Copy” page under the Quick Setup tab.

When the Paper Selection icon is selected, users can choose between letter (8.5” by 11”), legal (8.5” by 14”) or ledger (11” by 17”) sized paper. For more options, users can select “More”.

How to Use the Combine function

The combine feature allows users to combine 2 or 4 pages onto a single page. To use the combine feature, users must select the Combine icon on the “Ready to Copy” page under the Quick Setup tab.

How to Use the Zoom function

The zoom feature allows users to convert documents from their original size, to larger or smaller sizes when copying. To use the zoom feature, select the Zoom icon found on the “Ready to Copy” page under the Quick Setup tab.

Once the icon is selected, the screen will appear as shown below. From their users are given many preset zoom options making it easy for users to change the size of their original copy, to a bigger or smaller image depending on their needs. To manually select how much zoom is to be applied to the original document, users can select “more” and they will be given this option.

How to use the Density function

The density feature allows users to adjust how dark or light they would like their copied documents to appear. The Density icon can be found on the “Ready to Copy” page under the Quick Setup tab.

When the Density icon is selected the screen will appear as shown below. Users can then select if they would like their copies to appear darker or lighter than the original and to what extent. When this feature is set at zero the copy will appear the same as the original.

How to Use the Collate Offset function

The collate/offset feature can be found in the Org./Paper/Finishing tab of the “Ready to Copy” page. This feature gives users the options to offset each separate copy, as well as adjust the order of how the pages will be printed.

When the Collate/Offset icon is selected the page will appear as shown below. From their users may select their desired settings.

How to use the Background Density Adjustment function

The Background Density Adj. icon can be found under the Image Quality tab on the “Ready to Copy” page. This feature allows you to change the darkness of the originals documents background, either automatically or manually depending on the user’s needs. This feature is handy when copying things such as newspapers.

When the Background Density Adj. feature is selected and the manual option is selected, the screen will appear as the picture below. The user is then free to adjust the background darkness as they see fit.
