David Wallace is Regional Vice President and Managing Director, Eastern and Northern Ontario for BMO Harris Private Banking for offices in Ottawa and Kingston. He joined the BMO Financial Group in 1966 and over the past 20 years has held several Senior Management positions with the Bank in Toronto, St. John’s and Ottawa. As a Senior Manager of the Bank, he actively promoted the region through the use of small and independent business initiatives and as well, is the Bank’s representative to the local diplomatic community for domestic needs. Over the years he was a member of a number of business associations including the Board of Trade and OCRI.
As a Banker, David has been actively involved in a number of community charities including the Children’s Aid Foundation, Champions for Children, the Children’s Hospital, Snowsuit Fund, the Ottawa Heart Institute to name but a few.
In 1992, David was awarded the Governor General’s 125th Commemorative Medal for contribution to the community and in 1995, he was named the Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser at the Annual Philanthropy Awards for the Ottawa-Carleton region. In 2002, David received the Decoration of Merit in Silver of the Republic of Austria for contributing to the intensification of the Austro-Canadian relations and in 2003 received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal. The Ottawa Community honoured David in October 2003 with the Torchlight Award and in 2004 The United Way recognized him with a Community Builder Award. David was re-appointed to the Board in September 2005 for a second three-year term. He served as the Chair of the Board for the 2006-07 academic year and is serving as the Past Chair for 2007-08. |
