WHY FORESTRY?

Are you interested in helping to protect the environment?

Would you like to contribute to healthy ecosystems?

Do you want our forests managed so they continue to be a sustainable resource?

As a Forestry Technician, you can make a difference!

Learn and be trained in our innovative 47-week experiential diploma program.  Algonquin College's Forestry Technician program offers you an opportunity to earn your diploma in less than one year and includes 2 weeks of professional certifications and 2 weeks of field placement.

Gain the skills you need to work in many facets of the forest industry.  With almost 40 years experience as a Forestry Technician school, our graduates are well-respected in the forestry sector and work all over Canada in either government operations, private industry, or as self-employed entrepreneurs.

One-third of our curriculum is delivered in the outdoors, including world-renowned Algonquin Park, making it the most field-oriented natural resources program in the province.

We are proud to provide our students with an extensive practical curriculum that prepares them for their new career in forestry.  See Full Program Details.
