On Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, learners, employees and DARE6 partners enjoyed a morning of storytelling with Albert Dumont. 
Dumont is a poet, storyteller, speaker and an Algonquin traditional teacher. He was born in the Algonquin Territory of Kitigan Zibi.
With the backdrop of the beautifully decorated Nawapon Christmas tree, adorned with handmade Indigenous ornaments, Albert Dumont shared Indigenous tales about caring for the environment, empathy, looking out for others, reacting in certain situations and the importance of communication. Read more >

On Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, employees and learners got a head start on the holiday season as they took part in an Indigenous themed
ornament-making workshop.
Anita and Jenny Tenasco guided participants though creating ornaments using traditional Indigenous crafting methods and natural land-based materials including wood pieces, pinecones, feathers, birchbark and leather.
The creativity abounded as participants enjoyed festive music, snacks and good conversation. Read more >
