The basic refrigeration and cooling systems found in commercial and institutional structures are covered. Topics covered include: development of refrigeration; principles of refrigeration; absorption refrigeration systems; direct and indirect refrigeration systems; compressors and evaporators; condensers, cooling towers, refrigeration controls and accessories; operation and maintenance of compression refrigeration systems; air conditioning systems; air conditioning equipment; and air conditioning components, such as coils, humidifiers and filters.
