Building Electrical Systems

Course: BSC5535

Students are prepared to operate and maintain electrical systems in buildings in a safe, energy efficient, cost effective manner. Topics include electricity and the design of electrical circuits, the flow of electricity, units of measurement, conductors and insulators, voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, voltage current and resistance relationships, function of fuses in electrical circuits, electrical power and mechanical work relationships, generation of electrical current, operation of AC and DC motors and the safe operation of motors and electrical circuits.

This course is being offered remotely. Students are required to download Zoom and have sufficient internet to participate synchronously each week.
