This course is part of the following part-time on campus and/or online program(s):
Preparation must start early when applying for a career in policing or other law enforcement fields. Through self-reflection exercises, students work to gain an awareness of their skills, knowledge and abilities. Students also have the opportunity to attend recruitment sessions with a variety of law enforcement agencies. This gives students the opportunity to learn the entrance requirements for each agency, as well as what an applicant must have to make them a competitive candidate. Throughout the term students create a career portfolio which includes a cover letter, resume and evidence of their achievements, accomplishments and/or community involvement. Students practise career-related employment testing, and develop their behavioural-based interview skills through their participation in mock interviews.
