Notes

This intensive program prepares you for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) exam with Cisco Academy in less than a year of committed part-time study. Students who successfully complete the program qualify for a discount voucher for third party CCNA exam fees.

All three courses within the program are delivered in sequence, online, with scheduled Zoom classes (two evenings per week) plus the expectation of 2-5 hours/wk of homework outside of class hours. In addition to the online lectures and simulation activities, the program includes a significant number of hands-on practice hours.

Your tuition fee includes the loan of a kit of industrial grade equipment for home use. At the first class, your professor will discuss pick-up arrangements for you to come to campus and get your “home lab” equipment, and you’ll be asked to return it prior to the end of your final course. No more waiting for lab time because you’ll have your own “lab” in the convenience of your home throughout your studies!

Students are expected to have a good knowledge of computers, including installing software, transferring and saving files, connecting PC components and using a variety of applications (such as email, Zoom, word processing and logging in to specific sites). In this program you will receive a membership and account in the Cisco Network Academy, for training materials, lab exercises, assessments and a simulation tool. We recommend that students have reliable internet access and a current computer with webcam (recommended specs can be found here. Dual monitors are highly recommended.

The courses run sequentially so you do not have to sign up and pay for all three courses up front. The first course runs from Sept-Dec, followed by the second course (Jan-April) then the third course (May-July). You can register for each course as it is posted on the website. Last class is from 6:30 - 10:30 pm. This course is being offered remotely through Zoom. Full home-lab equipment loans are arranged within the first couple of weeks of class. Recommended system requirements can be found here.
