To succeed in the field of business systems analysis, analysts must become familiar with the technological needs of the business as a whole and its strategic direction. Students learn to identify gaps in an organization's current capabilities, to propose and evaluate solutions and to develop a plan to satisfy the needs of stakeholders. By analyzing and creating data flow diagrams and data modelling activities, students learn to define business needs, determine capability gaps, as well as specify and model requirements.
