Install and Configure a Computer System

Course: CST6532

In order to set up computers so that they are ready for use, students learn to install, configure and customize Windows operating systems. After learning the unique features and functions of operating systems including organizing and managing files and folders in the directory structure, understanding and running commands, and start-up options, students learn how to troubleshoot operating system configuration and tuning issues, as well as how to resolve different peripheral and printer problems. They also learn how to partition and format a hard disk into separate storage and boot areas, and how to add and remove hardware components and software programs.

Notes

Students must bring a minimum 8GB USB memory stick.
