Navigating Learning Environments

Course: HLT0223

As learning occurs in classrooms, online, and in labs, strengthening best academic practices supports the achievement of academic success. Students explore strategies for listening to academic lectures while making notes that support review. Online, students use the basic features of the College learning management system and learn to communicate with faculty and peers through appropriate electronic messaging. Students familiarize themselves with lab settings and develop an understanding of basic equipment and protocols used within that space. Through class discussion, collaboration with peers, independent activities and communication with faculty members, students establish a foundational understanding of their new learning environment and academic and professional expectations.
