Algonquin College Waterfront Chris Dore with arms crossed and smiling at cameraCampus Welcomes First Entrepreneur in Residence – Algonquin College’s Waterfront Campus in Pembroke has taken the first step towards fulfilling the College’s goal of instilling in every student a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation. The Campus has announced the appointment of its first Entrepreneur in Residence, in a move it believes will better prepare its graduates for today’s evolving and competitive labour market.

The Campus’s new E.I.R., Christopher Doré  is looking forward to the challenges that will come with the position. “I’m really excited to get started. The Pembroke Campus has an excellent reputation for being innovative, and I hope to channel some of that enthusiasm to create an entrepreneurial hub of ideas, thoughts and actions that will create all kinds of new opportunities for our learning community,” says Doré. GirlsNightOut-NoWordsphotoGirls’ Night Out – Since 2013, Algonquin College has been the beneficiary of a fabulous celebration of women, for women.  Organized by a group of active community-minded women, Girls’ Night Out has raised more than $100,000 at the four evening events.  Their fundraising efforts have supported the new campus capital campaign fund, plus a bursary of $1,500 for a female student attending the Pembroke Campus.  The 2017 event is already being planned, so stay tuned and watch for more on the Girls’ Night Out website >>


Jason Blaine banner for Concert & Golf eventJason Blaine Celebrity Charity Golf Classic – Canadian Recording Artist Jason Blaine is ready to rock his hometown again this year with some of Canada’s top Country music performers joining him on the stage at his Charity Concert in Pembroke. Expect an announcement soon as to who Blaine will have as his special celebrity guests for his concert fundraiser on June 13. These celebrity artists will also participate in day two of the charity event, an 18-hole golf tournament held at the Pembroke Golf Club on June 14. Learn more about this charity event >>
