Sheila Grantham
Indigenous Pedagogy and Curriculum Consultant
Sheila Grantham is a Metis PhD candidate and her dissertation focuses on decolonizing education. She has over 20 years experience working with Indigenous community, national and provincial organizations. She has previously taught courses in Indigenous studies and Human Rights at Carleton University.
In her current role, she looks forward to working with the Algonquin College community to assist in providing supports, tools and resources for those wishing to incorporate Indigenous pedagogy and curriculum into the classroom.
Kerry Potts
Indigenous Pedagogy and Curriculum Consultant
Kerry Potts is originally from Ottawa and of Teme-Augama Anishnabai and British ancestry. She has worked in Indigenous-led social services, performing and media arts organizations in Toronto for over 22 years. For over 10 years she was a professor of liberal studies at Humber College with additional teaching experience at George Brown, Seneca, and OISE/University of Toronto.
At Humber, Kerry was a member of the Indigenous Education Council, Co-Chair of the EDI Working Group in her faculty, built curriculum for sociology and general arts and sciences courses, and created the course Indigenous Perspectives on Music, Film and Media. She also worked with Indigenous Education and Engagement Team to create professional development courses that build teacher’s knowledge base and help them teach in an anti-racist, culturally safe way.
