Yes, OSAP assessments take textbook costs into account (for both full-time and part-time OSAP funding). OSAP funding may not fully cover the cost of your textbooks, and the funds will be sent to you, not directly to the bookstore.

Full-time study and part-time study 21 weeks or longer: the deadline is no later than 60 days before the end of your OSAP study period.

Part-time study 20 weeks or less: the deadline is no later than 40 days before the end of your OSAP study period.

If you made a mistake on your OSAP application, you need to upload a letter to your application explaining what needs to be changed.

You should upload this request letter through your online OSAP account, using the ‘Optional uploads’ link on the ‘Required documents’ page and then selecting the ‘Updates to your application’ queue.

Yes, you can - and if you are currently an OSAP recipient, you do not have to report the bursaries or scholarships to OSAP that Algonquin College issues; we will do so on your behalf. However, any external scholarships/bursaries that you qualify for must be reported on your OSAP application.

If you receive a bursary, you will be notified via email throughout the term. If you have other questions about bursary applications, please visit the Bursary page.

• If you currently owe fees to Algonquin College, your bursary will first be put towards your student account.
• If you are expecting to return next semester, your bursary will be added to your student account to be applied to your future fees.
• If you withdraw from your program, you are no longer eligible to receive this bursary, and it will be removed.

If you are in a graduating level or are a sponsored student, you will receive a cheque by mail for the remaining balance of the bursary.

If your program fees are being paid by a sponsoring agency, your employer, or a government department, you must present an official letter of authorization from the sponsor to the Registrar’s Office by the sponsor letter due date for the applicable term.

If you have a credit balance, please contact us through this form. If the refund can be issued directly to you, a refund cheque will be printed and mailed to the address on your student file (you can verify your address on your ACSIS account).

If you receive OSAP funding, any refunds are issued directly back to the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC). For any additional info, please contact your Financial Aid Officer.

To be eligible for a refund, you will need to officially withdraw from the program.

If you officially withdraw within 10 business days from the start date of your program, you are entitled to a refund of any fees paid less the non-refundable tuition deposit.

If you officially withdraw after 10 business days from the start date of your program or change to a part-time status, no refund will be issued and you will still be liable for payment of any outstanding fees owing to the College.

Refund timelines vary and depend on banks and other factors. In general, domestic refunds will take approximately 2 weeks to be received, and international refunds will take approximately 8 weeks.

If you withdraw from a course but remain at full-time status, your fees for the term will not change.

If you change to a part-time status after Day 10 of your semester, no refund will be issued, and you will still be liable for payment of any outstanding fees owing to the College.

If you have applied for OSAP with an assessment which will cover your fees, you are eligible for a deferral of the $500.00 non-refundable tuition deposit on your ACSIS account. Check the Payment Due Dates page for more detailed information on due dates.

All full-time students (OSAP and non-OSAP), returning in a subsequent term, must either pay their full term fees or complete a no-charge fee deferment on their Algonquin College ACSIS account by the Fees Due Date. In ACSIS, select "defer fees", then select the relevant term.

Upon payment or deferral of your non-refundable deposit, your remaining fees are automatically deferred, and you will receive an email with your Balance Due Date.

If you are late in paying the balance of the fees for the term, you will be assessed a $150.00 late payment penalty (you can continue attend your classes).

If you are having difficulties in paying your fees, please do take a look at the financial support that is available to you, as waiting too long can affect your ability to continue studying.

If you have taken this course within the past 5 years, your ENL1813 course will carry through to your new program, so there is no need to apply for an exemption. There is no need to apply for the exemption on ACSIS. If you have taken ENL1813 more than 5 years ago, please speak to your Program Coordinator or Program Support Officer if you are studying with AC Online.

Try to apply early! You can apply for Transfer Credit as soon as you have confirmed your offer on your program of study.

Please try to apply before the start of the term if you are expecting to add course(s) in place of the transferred credit in that term of study.

You should apply at least a month before your program is due to start.

After you successfully complete your program of study, we will update your record to reflect your graduated status within two months of your final assessments.

Once your record shows you have graduated, you can log into ACSIS to print a "Graduated" letter. Your unofficial transcript on ACSIS will show graduated status, and you can generate a Transcript Authentication letter.

Once you have completed, you will receive your official Diploma by mail to the address on file. Ensure your address is up to date by reviewing your personal information on ACSIS.

If applying for further post-secondary studies at another institution, you can request an official transcript by raising a ticket with us.

Once your record shows you have graduated, you can log into ACSIS to print a "Graduated" letter. Your ACSIS unofficial transcript will show graduated status, and you can generate a Transcript Authentication letter. The documents you download from ACSIS can be used for your PGWP application.

Convocation ceremonies take place each year in June. You can view information about our Convocation ceremonies on our website.

Save-the-Date communications will be sent to all graduates and potential graduates in their final year of studies in early May.

If you receive a "graduated" status by June 13, you will be eligible to attend the convocation ceremony this year. If you receive your "graduated" status after June 13, you will be invited to join the convocation ceremony the following year.

All graduates will receive information via email (please check all email addresses you have given Algonquin College) once their graduate status has been confirmed. Alternatively, graduated statuses may be viewed on your ACSIS account by choosing 'View transcript'.

Several of our part-time programs allow you to register on individual courses. Visit the program webpage and navigate to the "courses" tab, to see which courses may be available for web registration. You can also call us to register for these courses: call 613 727 0002.

If you are registered in a program and wish to take a course(s) from a different program, if web registration is not available for your chosen course, please contact the Program Coordinator of the second program (or the Student Advisor if the program is delivered online).

If studying on campus, you can register for Elective courses on your ACSIS portal, up to Day 5 of the term.

Our Campus Services team can provide a student card to all registered students. For eligible students, the card also doubles as a U-Pass to take OC Transpo buses throughout Ottawa.

Schedules will usually become available about a month before the term for students who have fully confirmed and paid/deferred their deposit. You can view our key dates on our Academic Calendar.

If you have not paid or deferred your tuition deposit, your timetable will not show. Please ensure you pay your deposit and allow up to 3 working days for the deposit to reach us. Once we receive your deposit, we will complete your registration, and your timetable will show on ACSIS.

Check the Academic Calendar for important dates and deadlines related to withdrawals. If you choose to withdraw, doing so before the specific deadlines will help you avoid incurring financial or academic penalties.

You can apply to transfer programs before the withdrawal deadline. Make sure you meet the admissions requirements for your new program, and then follow the guidance on our withdrawals and transfers page.

If you change your mind and want to return to the same program, Level 1 domestic students can reapply through the Ontario Colleges website. Level 1 international students can reapply through the international application portal.

Upper-level students, please get in touch with your Program Coordinator a few months before you are ready to return.

Domestic students: if you have not yet started your program, you can update your program selection at the Ontario Colleges website.

International students: you can update your selection at our international applications portal.

You should also check when your program is next due to run and whether places are still available on our program availability page.

If you do not register in a term for which you have applied for OSAP, and no OSAP funding has been released, we will automatically close your OSAP application for that term with no consequences. You will then need to submit a new application for your new term of study.

If you withdraw, transfer, or change your enrolment in any way after your OSAP funding has been released, we will make adjustments to your file. Changes may change your overall funding assessment, and you may be placed on OSAP probation or restriction. If the changes to your OSAP result in an overpayment, we will automatically return any credits on your student account to the National Student Loan Service Centre. If there is an overpayment that you will need to repay directly, you will receive information in your OSAP portal.

U-Pass is not offered to most part-time students. Students who are registered with the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) and are considered to be full-time students on a reduced course load who are eligible to opt-in to the U-Pass program. Please see the information on our website on how to opt in.

If you are registered part-time, please submit a request for a letter on our CRM system.

Official transcripts can be sent by email to a third party, such as post-secondary institutions and other governing bodies. Official transcripts can only be requested by the student or graduate.

If you finish your program in the Spring or Fall semesters, we will be in touch with information on how to collect your credential. Please ensure your address is up to date by reviewing your personal information on ACSIS.

Students who complete their program in the Winter semester (January start) will receive their credentials at Convocation. If you are unable to attend Convocation, your credential will be mailed to the address on file at the conclusion of the Convocation ceremonies. Please ensure your address is up to date by reviewing your personal information on ACSIS.

New students will receive their new email credentials by the start of their first term.

• A piece of valid photo I.D. issued in Canada by the federal, provincial, or territorial governments. Examples of acceptable photo I.D. are a valid driver’s license, passport, provincial health card with photo, permanent residency, or citizenship card. AND
• Government-issued Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) card or letter.

We will provide you with your official documents once you confirm your acceptance and pay your tuition fees.

Request a refund within 10 days of receipt of the rejection notice. To do so, you must upload your Study Permit refusal letter from the Visa Office in your Application Portal, or via your agent, if you have one. Please refer to our refund policy.

International students who have received a Study Permit rejection from IRCC can request a deferral and new PAL and will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Congratulations! You can let us know by uploading a copy of your study permit approval letter in the application portal or through your agent, if you have one.
