Therapeutic Group Facilitation

Working in a group milieu is a key component in child and youth care practice. Students explore the process of establishing groups and the facilitation and evaluation of therapeutic groups in both formal and informal settings. Through participation in a lab group, students observe and document group process and experience the roles of the group leader and group member. Through self-reflection and applied practice, students acquire the skills, and attitudes necessary to facilitate therapeutic groups.
