Pembroke Facilities

A Brand New Campus for 2012

We’re excited about our new Waterfront Campus that opened in the fall of 2012. This $36-million campus is nestled along the shores of the Ottawa River and next door to Pembroke’s historic downtown.

Our new 4-storey building features a two-storey library, a student commons, gymnasium and fitness centre, great labs and a fully accessible learning environment for people with disabilities.

Our new facility includes:

  • A gymnasium and fitness centre. Intamural sports are played in the fall and winter semesters.
  • Quiet study learning pods for students throughout the campus.
  • The Landing, our student lounge where students spend time between classes or after school is over for the day. Students can enjoy a hockey game or a movie on the big screen or just spend time socializing.
  • A fully networked, high speed wireless internet environment.
  • State-of-the-art learning labs including three nursing labs equipped with simulated patients who talk and breathe; a science lab; automotive shop that includes three hoists and welding bays; a technologically advanced Computer Systems Technician lab with its own server, and much more.

Community Partnerships

Plus, we have a number of great community partnerships that support student learning.

For example, our Outdoor Adventure students spend two days each week at the Wilderness Tours Resort or Mount Pakenham where they receive hundreds of hours of practical skills training. Our Forestry Technician students also learn in the outdoors and forest industry settings where they do about one third of their program through field work activities.

Our Health & Community studies programs also benefit from hands-on experiences in the community where they participate in field work experiences in hospitals, long-term care facilities, early childhood and elementary school settings, and social work agencies. In addition, our Police Foundations students train on specialized equipment in our new gymnasium and at other facilities.
