Barry Gilbert Memorial Award Application

The Barry Gilbert Memorial Award is given to a student in good standing in their final (3rd) semester of the power motive technician program.

This award has been established by the family of Barry Gilbert to celebrate his memory. Barry spent many years of his working life in the automotive service industry in Ottawa. He demonstrated his love of this industry by sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with co-workers new to the trade. The recipient of the award will demonstrate similar teamwork, leadership skills, and work ethic that Barry exemplified in his life.

To be considered for the Award, students who qualify must submit the following:

A one-page essay on how they will use the skills they have developed in the program and how they have demonstrated teamwork, a strong work ethic, and leadership.
