About the program
Developed by leading practitioners and educators, the Business Analysis Essentials (BAE) certificate program delivers the well-rounded, hands-on training business analysts need to identify business opportunities and recommend effective solutions. The syllabus is aligned with the latest version of A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide).
This modular program format allows individuals to enrol in a single course or register for the entire program. Complete all seven courses below within five years to earn an Algonquin College Certificate in Business Analysis Essentials. Alternatively, select only those courses which meet your specific needs.
Algonquin College is an International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA) Endorsed Education Provider (EEP), and courses qualify for Professional Development (PD) hours and Continuing Development Units (CDUs) required to apply for and maintain Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) certification. This foundation course explores the roles, responsibilities and techniques of high-performing business analysts today.
2-day course
Build your confidence in facilitating group sessions to elicit requirements and while managing group dynamics and difficult stakeholders.
3-day course
Learn as a team to collaborate, define and validate requirements.
2-day course
Explore the key elements of a business process including governance, metrics, alignment, activities and sequences.
3-day course
Explore the evolution of use cases throughout the project life cycle and learn how to plan and lead a use case workshop.

4. All courses in the program must be completed within three years to earn an Algonquin College certificate in Business Analysis Essentials.
